Exploring the vast and diverse country with his camera, he focuses on presenting realistic and candid works without preconceptions rather than imposing his own views and confronting people and the objects that interest him.
Musician Liang Heping has described Cavazzuti's style of photography as being "at eye level," which is reflects not only the photographer's perspective but also his calm attitude toward life.
A shopkeeper's own drawing of a Nestlé advertisement, fashionable suits and ruffled dresses, headshots outside a photo shop – these are everyday moments that would be easy to overlook and had been carefully captured by the photographer from an unobtrusive distance.
There is no drama or grand narrative, only a naturalistic and subtle representation of the details of life. More than 40 years later, Andrea is now affectionately known as "Old An" or "Lao An" among those who know him and his work.
He has witnessed China's globalization, becoming a participant in the development of China's contemporary culture and providing us with his precious vision.
The exhibition is supported by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Haidian District Committee, the Haidian District Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and the Haidian District Civil Affairs Bureau and closes on May 28, 2023.
