"China Studies Program" on Advanced Chinese Translation and Interpretation Training for Overseas Talents - Translation Workshop on Cultural Heritage and Museology recently opened for applications and registration.

The workshop is jointly organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, the Beijing Language and Culture University, and the National Museum of China (NMC). Based on exhibitions at the NMC, the workshop invites native speakers of Arabic, English, French, Russian, Italian, Japanese, and Farsi to explore translation in the five fields of Chinese bronze ware, porcelain, painting and calligraphy, clothing, and food, and narrate the history, philosophy, and aesthetics behind China's cultural relics.

During the event, relevant experts and language teachers will give lectures on translation strategies regarding Chinese cultural relics and museums. They also aim to help learners increase their cross-cultural awareness and hone their storytelling skills through practice.

The workshop is expected to bring together translation talents from overseas to recount the stories behind China's cultural heritage, facilitate the dissemination of fine traditional Chinese culture abroad, and provide new impetus for deepening cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and the rest of the world.
