The awards ceremony for the 2022 Competition for the Transmission and Promotion of the Beijing Central Axis was hosted on April 2 at the Confucius Temple and the Guozijian (imperial college) Museum in Beijing.
The event invited two children who participated in the competition to co-host with a professional, and award winners from home and abroad performed poetry reading and stand-up comedy, as well as songs and dances.
An exhibition of award-winning pieces was also established along with the event, showcasing cultural merchandise objects, picture books centered on the axis, and a VR project that allows participants to view the sites and buildings.
Launched in 2021, the competition has been successfully held twice. The 2022 competition received a total of 76,419 entries by 90,690 participants from China and more than 30 countries and regions, from which 276 representative projects were selected.
At the event, information about the upcoming 2023 competition was also released. It will continue to focus on inheriting and promoting the culture of the Beijing Central Axis and the ancient capital.
