Exports grew by 13.9 percent year on year to 2.19 trillion yuan last year, ranking first on the Chinese mainland for 30 consecutive years.
Privately owned businesses contributed 2.28 trillion yuan in foreign trade, up 5.9 percent year on year, and accounting for over 60 percent of the total trade, the customs bureau said.
The manufacturing hub's trade with RCEP trading partners and countries and regions along the Belt and Road hit 1.01 trillion yuan and 893 billion yuan respectively, up 7.8 percent and 15.1 percent over the previous year, respectively.
Mechanical and electrical products accounted for over 75 percent of both imports and exports in 2022.
