The Toronto Raptors dropped their third straight game after a 124-123 narrow defeat to the Sacramento Kings in Wednesday night's NBA game.

Despite a season-high

39-point effort from All-Star Fred VanVleet, the Raptors were unable to overcome their poor three-point shooting.

Toronto attempted a season-low 21 shots from beyond the arc and converted just six.

"We got to shoot better, keep creating them, and keep attempting them," said VanVleet who shot 2-for-8 from three and missed a potential game-tying three-pointer with four seconds left in the fourth quarter. "It's hard to win in this league every night without making threes."

After starting the season shooting 36 percent on threes, the Raptors have shot a league-worst 28 percent over their last 15 games. Toronto currently ranks fourth worst in three-point attempts per game (10.3) and third worst in three-point shooting percentage (32.3).

Sophomore Scottie Barnes recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 27 points and tied his career-high in assists with 10.

The Raptors fell to 13-15 on the season and 10-4 in games in Scotiabank Arena.
