Ning Zhongyan of China took the bronze medal of the men's 1,500 meters in the speed skating World Cup at the Sormarka Arena in Stavanger,
Ning clocked one minute and 46.685 seconds for third place behind Jordan Stolz of the United States and Connor Howe from Canada.
The 18-year-old Stolz captured the gold medal after setting a new track record of 1:44.891.
In the men's team pursuit, the United States were crowned in 3:44.018 with the silver and bronze going to the Netherlands and Norway respectively.
Ragne Wiklund of Norway crossed the line in 4:03.119 to upset Irene Schouten of the Netherlands to grab the women's 3,000m gold on home soil. Schouten finished second with a time of 4:05.017 while Isabelle Weidemann of Canada came in third at 4:05.460.
In the women's 500m, South Korean Kim Min-sun clocked 37.553 seconds for her first World Cup title. Jutta Leerdam of the Netherlands and Japanese Takagi Miho were second and third respectively.
American Erin Jackson, the gold medal winner of the women's 500m at the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, finished eighth with a time of 38.302.
The speed skating World Cup will continue on Saturday with the titles of the women's 1,500m and team pursuit, men's 500m and 5,000m up for grabs.
