UN Undersecretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo on Friday concluded her two-day visit to Moscow, where she exchanged views with senior Russian officials,
said the press office of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Saturday.
DiCarlo held consultations with senior officials of the Russian Foreign Ministry on a wide range of issues, including Afghanistan, Colombia, Haiti, Libya, Myanmar, Sudan and Syria, as well as the Middle East peace process and developments around the Korean Peninsula, said the press office.
DiCarlo met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin and Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, Russian Special Representative for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov, and Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Vladimir Safronkov, it said.
DiCarlo also held a meeting with Grigory Karasin, chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs. She also met with Imangali Tasmagambetov, secretary-general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, it said.
During her meetings in Moscow, DiCarlo reiterated the principled position of the United Nations regarding Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, in line with the UN Charter and relevant resolutions of the General Assembly, said the press office.
