A UN inter-agency mission recently reviewed the progress of UN's peacebuilding and sustainable development efforts in southern Libya, the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL)
said on Tuesday.
The delegation, led by the Deputy Special Representative, Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator Georgette Gagnon, visited Libyan's southern cities on Sunday and met with local officials, the UNSMIL said in a statement.
During the discussions, the municipal leaders and civil society actors said their top priorities were restoring infrastructure, improving access to basic services, and boosting employment.
Gagnon, meanwhile, stressed UN's commitment to help the region's capacity-building to meet the challenges of sustainable peace and development.
